i would not recommend this amp...i bought it for 100$ and i thought it was a waste of money. I got it installed in my car and immediatly took it out 2 minutes later. It was powering a 10 inch subwoofer and when I turned up the volume the amp would cut out. Needless to say I returned it after that

Rockford Fosgate Power T1652 6.5" Full Range Coaxial Speakers Review

Rockford Fosgate Power T1652 6.5 Full Range Coaxial Speakers
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
i am a serious audiophile and have been into stereo equipment for over 30 years. i had my first car stereo installed in my car when i was 14. t1652, these speakers rock! i replaced a 400$, 15 year old set of memphis AR-MS6.75's component speakers with these. the fosgates sound just as good, even being coaxials. the highs are spot on and crystal clear. the bass is low and tight, not as low as i would like, but plenty good if using a sub, easy 65hz. these will be an awsome factory replacement as well. sound quality is awsome. i am driving mine with an old school precision power 30x4 amp, (PPI). after hearing these i will be getting a set of t1462's for my dash speakers. why spend a ton of money for marginal gains in sound quality. deck, JVC 9350 arsenal with 3 rca outputs. PPI 4430 30x4 amp. JL10w6v2 in spec ported box @ 36.2hz port tuning. JLaudio 500/1v1 sub amp. fultron 4" in the dash board, alpine 1' tweeters on "A" pillar fosgate t11652 in the doors, PPI 2/3 way crossover. all of this crammed into a chevy s10 extended cab. these are 1 day old, so i can not wait to get them broke in and really pour the coles to them. all in all an excellent set of speakers at around 100 bucks or less. the only negative is the tweeter mount holds my door panel out about 1/4 inch from the door. i did not want to cut the door panel to make thes fit, it is fine and undetectable. the cone area gained from this configuration is worth it. these will top load mount just fine if you want to cut the door panels. these fit the holes fine but i had to drill holes for the mounting screws in the factory plastic speaker bucket. you would have to do this to any car for any speaker though. GET A SET AND JAM!

Kenwood KTC-HR200 HD Radio Tuner Box Review

Kenwood KTC-HR200 HD Radio Tuner Box
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I used to have free XM subscription, and I wasn't impressed with the sound quality
(not trying to flame XM, I understand XM is all about quantity of programs).
Then I read that HD Radio uses 96kbps compression, compare to 48kbps of XM.
I got the KTC-HR200 connected to DDX812 through the "5L" connector.
Sound quality is amazing, it is indeed near CD quality.
I get more bass and clearer treble. I can honestly say it is better than XM,
and it's waayyy better than analog FM, no more hiss and noise.
Unlike RDS where the text scrolls, KTC-HR200 and DDX812 displays title/artist/station-name constantly, it doesn't scroll.
Some stations carry more than 1 HD broadcasts, so there are more programs to listen to.
The negatives:
- I've had KTC-HR200 for 3 weeks now, and twice I got the memory presets lost issue
others reported. So it's NOT everytime I turned off/on the car.
- KTC-HR200 is huge! Dimension is (W/H/D): 6 1/2, 1 3/8, 4 5/16 inch.
Think of where you want to install it before you buy.
- The module gets hot even when the head unit plays something else (CD for example). How hot does it get? Adult can probably stand it, but I wouldn't want my 3 years old kid to touch it.
- The installation manual says "Do not install the unit near the dashboard, the rear deck, or other important components." I wonder if it's related to the "hot" issue above. It recommends you to install it on the carpet.
- It doesn't support iTune tagging.
- It takes about 4 to 6 second before it can lock onto the HD broadcast. During this time, you'll hear analog version of the broadcast. I'm not sure if this is HR200 issue or if it's a characteristic of every HD Radio receiver.
- If reception is bad, it fails to lock onto the HD broadcast. Or it may switch back and forth between analog FM and HD.
The improvement in sound quality far outweighs the negatives.
Especially if you listen a lot to classical or jazz programs,
you'll enjoy it much much more.

Now, I will start off saying if you want a high intense bass amp then spend 1k for an amp. for the money this amp rocks! I have it hooked up to 2 10" Polk Audio Momo subs and it sounds great. I have heard some people same that cheaper sub amps go into protect mode often. This amp has never cut off. I ran this all of this summer in a truck with no A/C in the south every day and cannot believe how cool it is to the touch! I have set the main level knob on the amp at around 11 o'clock and it does quite well. One of my workmates (a car audio freak) has listened to my setup and said I should enter it into a contest. I'm a litte too old for this (grin-grin). One last thing, spend most of you $$$ on good speakers and less on the amp. Your system will sound better then the other way around.

I have this amp paired with an Alpine R12 (4 ohm), and it is amazing. With the gain over 3/4, it is TOO POWERFUL for any kind of conversation in my 08 Civic.
I also bought a 1 Farad capacitor, because my headlights were dimming.
This amp has not cut out once, even in near 100 degree heat and bumpin'.
I recommend this amp because of it's flawless performance, light price, active cooling, and heavy hitting power.
I am very impressed with this amp.

Kenwood KFC-1682IE 6.5-Inch 240-Watt Max Power Three-Way Speaker System
Average Reviews:

I purchased these to replace stock speakers in a Honda Civic. This car has considerable rode noise, and if the volume was turned up on the speakers, the sound quality became so bad it was worse than the noise. I purchased these speakers in the hope that I could drown out the road noise at high speeds so I could still listen to music while driving. I drive to Utah (about 5 hours) twice a month. In this my primary goal, I have been extremely pleased. These seem like a very nice speaker.
The radio in this car is not a high quality unit, so I cannot accurately rate the quality reproduction of the highs and the lows, but my overall impression of the sound that comes from these speakers seems very clean. My last speakers I could barely hear the base, and now I can hear it and even feel it (these speakers are in the panel down by my legs). Voices come out much crisper than the old speakers. I would definitely recommend these speakers. I will update this review after I replace the stereo.

AudioBahn Sound Q ALUM12N - Car subwoofer - 1000 Watt - 12" Review

AudioBahn Sound Q ALUM12N - Car subwoofer - 1000 Watt - 12
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Pros: Good sound quality.
Cons: These 1000 watt RMS subwoofers can't handle 1000 watts of continuous power. The first subwoofer, I had the amp turned up a little higher then I probably should have, the sub lasted about 2 minutes before burning up... The second subwoofer, I had the amp tuned to 1000 watts, and had added 6db on the deck, at 75% volume this subwoofer was alright, but the second I hit 80% volume it burned up.
Overall: Personally, I have run a 600 watt Alpine Type-R with a 500 watt amp, gain all the way up, everything maxed, volume maxed, the subwoofer has never had issues. I even put that same exact Alpine Type-R on the same 1000 watt amp that was burning out the AudioBahns, and it still has no issues... I've never smelled it burning, nothing! ... These AudioBahns are the age old story, you get what you pay for... I will never buy another audiobahn product after this experience.

Kenwood Kdc-Mp745U CD/AM/FM/USB Receiver Review

Kenwood Kdc-Mp745U CD/AM/FM/USB Receiver
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Car audio seems to be stuck in an odd spot. Most seem to be saddled with 1990s technology and pathetic MP3 support unless you are willing to buy an Ipod or a satellite radio subscription. I'm still waiting for a car stereo with proper MP3 support, but this Kenwood is pretty close. Let's get down to the pros and cons:
Pro:
* Sensible MP3 support with only a few big limitations (listed below). Other MP3 players I checked out had all sorts of absurd weaknesses like one player that literally dumps all of your MP3s into a difficult-to-navigate list.
* Big and easy-to-read display.
* USB is in the rear so that you don't have a flash drive sticking out of your dash.
* Huge number of settings and options. They not only exist, but the UI of the main panel makes it easy to change the settings.
* The audio is great. In fact, the audio is too good for its own good! You can easily crank up the levels to a point that still sounds clean but overheats the player to the point it enters a safe mode where it lowers to cool down, returns to loud, lowers to cool down again etc...Cons:
* USB cannot even power a small laptop-style harddrive even though my laptop's USB port easily handles it.
* MP3 storage devices are limited to 256 folders. Even though this thing can handle a 32GB flash drive, and probably more, the 256 folder limitation is a significant, and unnecessary, barrier that seems like a relic of the 1980s that will force you to make concessions with your music library. Considering that my 32GB chips are already maxed out, you can assume there will be little point in upgrading to 64GB, 128GB, or higher flash drives during the time you will own your vehicle.
* No mute button! How can there be no mute button?
* Settings are lost when the power is completely cut. No, turning off the ignition will not lose your settings, but you will sometimes find mechanics disconnecting the battery when performing maintance.
* Must use buttons instead of a dial to change the radio station.

* Disc drive is a CD drive instead of a DVD drive. I do not expect video capabilities from this, but considering the CD format is long obsolete and DVD drives handle all of the functionality of those old drives it sure is unfortunate that the disc drive cannot handle MP3 from DVD.

* This complaint is a bit unfair but I have a Sansa Fuze MP3 player that froze the Kenwood and it had to be reset. If you connect the Sansa, then turn on the car's ignition that process seems to screw things up and it causes the headunit to freeze. It happened twice. The Kenwood never said it was compatible with the Sansa Fuze, but it was a bit odd that the Kenwood wasn't designed well enough to at least not crash when unexpected devices are connected.

Polk Audio db1040 10-Inch Single Voice Coil Subwoofer (Single, Black) Review

Polk Audio db1040 10-Inch Single Voice Coil Subwoofer (Single, Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have two of these wired in parallel to two ohms being run by a Pioneer GM-D7500M Class-D Mono Amplifier with 800 Watts Max. Power. They are in a small enclosed box with about .95 Cu Ft. They sound awesome... nice tight bass with rock and a good "BOOM" with Rap or Pop. I couldn't believe how well these sound and look. They are actually black and not silver like the pictures shows. I think the picture is a previous model. These subs replaced some Orion 10's (can't remember model #) but I will tell you I noticed a huge difference in sound quality and these seem to go to a lower frequency then the Orions or the MTX thunders in my pick-up. (I didn't look at numbers though, just went by sound) These are deeper than some other brands. Top mount took 5 1/2"s I had to put trim rings on my box to get them in as the Orion's where like 4 7/8". Anyway this is Polk's entry level series and I'm blown away by them, I can't imagine what their higher series sound like. For this price and Polk's reputation in sound you can't go wrong with these.

the reason they sounded like that is because u fried ur voice coils. its easier to blow a speaker by underpowering them. which is what u did. RMS is continus power, which is the recomended wattage. if u fall too far below this u can blow ur speakers.

Kenwood Kdc-Bt945U CD/AM/FM/USB Receiver with Bluetooth Review

Kenwood Kdc-Bt945U CD/AM/FM/USB Receiver with Bluetooth
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Like the previous review (which I didn't read), the bluetooth audio will only play on the front speakers, and the second tech support guy I spoke to gave me the same answer as in the previous review. Oddly enough, at first the unit worked great, with full sound for almost two days, when it switched to front speaker operation only. The first tech support guy I spoke to was unaware of the "front-speaker limit", and provided me with a long list of things to try to correct the issue. After trying them, without success, I called back and I was connected to the second tech guy who told me it shouldn't have worked in the first place. So buyer beware, but I'm hoping to return it.
EDIT: The above is my original review. It DOES work will all speakers, for BT audio and hands-free. It's just that the settings for this are somewhat hidden. After spending some more time with Kenwood tech reps, I was told that there must be a defect, so I was referred to a local repair facility. This was an authorized retailer/repair - Suburban Audio in NJ near Philly - and the repair guy there knew exactly what setting was off and I had it fixed within minutes.
The proper setting can be found only while the radio is in BT hands-free mode (page 48 of the pdf manual). The setting to adjust is "Bluetooth HF/Audio", where you can select "Front" or "All". Even though the manual describes this for voice, is applies to both voice and audio streaming.
