I also bought a 1 Farad capacitor, because my headlights were dimming.
This amp has not cut out once, even in near 100 degree heat and bumpin'.
I recommend this amp because of it's flawless performance, light price, active cooling, and heavy hitting power.
I am very impressed with this amp.

(More customer reviews)AMAZON.COM BUYERS BEWARE! Do not think just because you are ordering through Amazon.com, that you have their guarantee or protection. They used a third party to fill my order on Dec. 21, 2009 for 2 Atrend sub boxes, and somehow between my order online and communication to distribution, two companies picked up on it. The 2 boxes I SHOW an invoice order for, through Price Pros, were delivered on Dec. 24, and Dec. 30th, confirmed as ONE ORDER HISTORY on Amazon.com. Somehow, another company duplicated that information on the same night, and Electotronics sends 2 more Atrend sub boxes in the amount of $157.44 during the middle of January 2010, which I DID NOT ORDER! By this point my son had already secured scheduled installation of the Atrends in his possession.
There is obviously a mix-up somewhere between Amazon and distribution because the Packing Slips for BOTH companies are identical in form, shading, wording, Titled- DISTRIBUTION CENTER USA, they have the same 13 digit spaces for the Order Number starting with the same 0107...everything is the same with the exception of the name in "Bill To" which is the company that shipped the items. And even though both of the companies got the order at the same time supposedly, and both charged my credit card on Dec. 22nd, the packing slip for Electotronics shows an order date of Dec. 31, 2009...which is odd to charge a card before you get an order...just another inaccuracy. I ordered through Amazon.com on Dec. 21, 2009.
I have tried since the un-ordered Atrends arrived at my home from Electotronics--going on 4 months now--to resolve the issue; Amazon says it's a third party issue not theirs, Price Pro's does not claim to know of a company named Electotronics (both doing business in Oklahoma City, OK and Edmond, OK) and suggests I should get in touch with Amazon again; Then Amazon.com, after being understanding on the phone and saying they could help, sends an e-mail and decides they are not familiar with Electotronics and it is not their problem. I get a ph. Number and call Electotronics and explain my situation and am told they understand and that they will send me a RMA # with return directions by e-mail and I confirm my e-mail with them, because if you ship it back without an RMA # they will not accept the merchandise--But they never sent the e-mail with RMA # as promised, and after faxing supporting data to all 3 parties, no one responds to this day.
My Credit Card Co. cannot continue with the dispute of $157.44 because they (Electotronics) sent me the unsolicited merchandise. It needs to be in their possession, meaning I have to send it back...which again, according to their website instructions, they will not accept without a RMA #.
This has been nothing but frustration in dealing with all parties involved! My next step is the Better Business Bureau, informing their local media outlets where they do business, online links, and making sure future possible customers such as yourselves are not taken advantage of as I have been! If there is a positive outcome, I will update you. As of now, BEWARE! THEIR MISTAKES ARE YOUR LOSS!

AudioBahn Sound Q ALUM12N - Car subwoofer - 1000 Watt - 12" Review

Cons: These 1000 watt RMS subwoofers can't handle 1000 watts of continuous power. The first subwoofer, I had the amp turned up a little higher then I probably should have, the sub lasted about 2 minutes before burning up... The second subwoofer, I had the amp tuned to 1000 watts, and had added 6db on the deck, at 75% volume this subwoofer was alright, but the second I hit 80% volume it burned up.
Overall: Personally, I have run a 600 watt Alpine Type-R with a 500 watt amp, gain all the way up, everything maxed, volume maxed, the subwoofer has never had issues. I even put that same exact Alpine Type-R on the same 1000 watt amp that was burning out the AudioBahns, and it still has no issues... I've never smelled it burning, nothing! ... These AudioBahns are the age old story, you get what you pay for... I will never buy another audiobahn product after this experience.

Sony XSL120B5D Box-Dual SubWoofer Review

(More customer reviews)On Black Friday of 2008, I got these subs plus an 800 watt Xplod amp from Circuit City for $180, after tax. After barely squeezing them into the trunk of my '99 Ford Escort LX, I hooked them up using 8 gauge wire for power and ground to the amp, and high-strand 10 gauge to the speakers. At 340 watts RMS, these things pound! The entire interior of my car rattles; while running a test that slowly increases the frequency, you can hear different components of the car vibrate. They seem to like 48 Hz, +/- 2 Hz, but that could just be the settings on my amp. At 48 Hz, my Garmin Nuvi 270 is unusable (when you go to touch it, it pounds at your finger because of the vibrations, while tilting upwards on its mount). With the right song, they're ear-splitting, and will give me headaches after less than five minutes (even though I'm used to them). The excursion isn't the best, so you don't feel the pressure as much as the actual shock of the hit (it feels like a mild full body massage, if you have longer hair, you can actually feel it vibrating). Outside the car, the sound carries, but you hear the bass more than you feel it. In other words, they're cop-friendly. A larger amp might change this, however. For a first-time setup that'll impress most of your friends that didn't dump more than $500 into a *good* subwoofer setup, this isn't bad. The sound quality is OK, songs with a strong beat sound better than those with a fast one (rap vs. trance/techno). They're designed for low frequencies, thus, if you don't have good speakers to handle the 80-180 Hz range, you might feel like you're missing something. Beware, though, the box is enormous; fitting it into my trunk took some planning, a flat tire would make me extra-miserable, and a small child would barely be able to fit in the trunk with the box. The tradeoff, however, is excellent sounding, head-throbbing bass.

(More customer reviews)This box is intended for a type S Alpine 12. (or similar spec speaker) I have a type R and the air volume of this box is too small for it and the port tuning is wrong. It did not sound very good with a type R. I will give it a thumbs up for the quality construction. I wish I could give a more favorable review. I am not saying this box is bad. It was designed for a type S and I'm sure it would sound great loaded with one judging by the high build quality and specs.
(EDIT 2 WEEKS LATER)The Alpine Type R recommends a 1.9 cubic ft. (ported) box. This is only 1.3. The full range of bass was not heard with my 2010 Type R. I replaced it with this...

If your looking for big boomy bass than this is not the sub for you. I have this hooked up 2 a JL audio e1400d mono amp and it rocks!! Big sound in a little bass. It wont knock pictures off the wall but it will set off alarms!!

(More customer reviews)This is a good box for the price for sure, becuase with the shared chamber your subs still have power as if they were hitting against each other, but without the pressure it cuases on the subs! I bought it not knowing what to expect because of the fact that the only other boxes ive ever owned were sealed and they cause some serious low beats but lack highs but also cause alot of stress on the subs and i love loud systems so as a result ive blown 3sets of subs because of them so i bought new subs and a new amp awhile back and i bought this with them and they are really loud! lol!! the only bad thing is it doesnt come with wires for the inside of the box (from the box connections to the subs) but that was an easy fix!! but it still is a great box!!!!

Kenwood KFC-W3011 1200-Watt 12-Inch Subwoofer Review

(More customer reviews)See my recent review of the similar Kenwood KFC-W2511 10" subwoofer which was quite favorable too.
I just upgraded to the 12" sub and put it in the same 1.12 cu. ft. 3/4" MDF sealed box that I previosly had the 10" sub in (put the old one in wifey's car). I found the 10" sub when at the highest levels of my amp's 300W RMS power were close to the very limits of the smaller sub's power rating and wanted to have a little extra room so I upgraded to this 12".
While I don't often crank it so loud, at times I do (tailgating at football games with the hatch open for example) and this is where the difference over the 10" model is really noticeable.
The 12" version of this sub is an absolute BEAST for a single 12" sub. Driven with a strong amp from a high voltage RCA signal from a quality head unit this thing is incredibly loud and clear and probably can pulverize any kidney stones you might be carrying.
I had previously also used Pioneer's Champion series' 12" sub in this very same 1.12 cu. ft. sealed box and the 12" Kenwood, I guess due to its higher 90db efficiency rating (vs 87 on the Pioneer) is clearly louder at the same volume levels.
Sound quality is excellent at all volume levels and even at absolute max volume with the bass totally boosted on my amp's + 12db knob there is no clipping or distorting whatsoever and the thing totally thumps every seat in my Mitsu.
The system in my '98 Mitsu Eclipse GST is:
Pioneer Premier head unit driving the smaller speakers and a Pioneer GM-D8400M mono amp (300W RMS, peak 1200W) pushing this subwoofer.

(More customer reviews)I have this nice sub bridged to a pioneer 760 watt amp at 380 rms in a .75 cubic foot sealed box. this sub is nice sounding and hits the lows very nicely...however u want to rattle your car apart this sub wont do that...but it will rattle it...alot. I really think this sub should be in a ported box about 1.75 cubic feet, im gonna try that next...i have a 2000 honda accord with this sub, 2 pioneer 6x9 speakers, and 2 pioneer 6 1/2 speakers...system sounds very nice, the sub is wonderful and is totally worth buying...it has very good design from the voice coil to the double stacked magnets, very durable and totally worth buying!
