Trico 15-160 Teflon Wiper Blade - 16" Review

Going on six months with no streaking or skipping. Holds up to the sun and dry rot. The rear blade on my Trailblazer would not mount correctly and ended up using just the blade on the the original hardware.

this is junk ! the adapter is a piece of light plastic and the adapter does not snap down all the way it more or less snaps at the edges. so it doesnt lay flat at the middle part it still sticks up i got these on [...] and they are going back tomorrow. i should have stayed with the classic ones. also consumer reports say these type do not do any better job than the traditional wipers. i would never buy this brand again.

Hopkins 46255 Power Taillight Converter (Solid State) Review

Hopkins 46255 Power Taillight Converter (Solid State)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
After replacing my old truck (member of the family, but at 18 it's time for them to go out into the world) I needed to add the U-Haul "standard" 4 lead trailer wiring to the replacement vehicle (2008 Toyota Tacoma).
I chose the 46255 converter because it provides separate power to the trailer lights, instead of the more common direct tap into the existing lights. This ensures that the turn signal flasher speed does not change when the trailer is connected and that a problem with the trailer wiring will not prevent the vehicle lights from working.
Installation is straightforward, but the separate power feed requires tapping into a 12 volt point that is always on (not key controlled) to ensure that the trailer lights (tail, hazard) always work. The Tacoma fuse box is under the hood and the fuse slot that powers the optional factory/dealer installed trailer wiring is easy to find. The terminal on the fused connector provided with the converter can be trimmed to fit in that fuse slot, providing a labelled source of power.
Running the power lead to the back of the vehicle is slow if you don't have a lift to provide easy access, but can be done (minimum ground clearance on the Tacoma is 8 inches).
The wiring at the lights can be tapped either in the harness on the frame rail or inside the light cavity in the fender. I chose the light cavity as the connections are better protected from water and dirt, although the tap connectors provided with the kit are filled with a water-resistant compound to provide reliable connections under less-than-perfect conditions. If you have a passenger vehicle (car, van, suv), you would typically be making connections inside the trunk or cargo area where they would be protected from the weather. Having access to a copy of the vehicle service/wiring manual is helpful, as you don't have to test the wires to see which one is tail, brake, etc.
All the added wiring on the truck is supported by the provided zip-ties every 12 to 15 inches. I used a heavy duty nylon zip-tie to mount the converter box under the truck instead of the light weight zip-ties provided with the converter - I want the installation to last as long as I keep the vehicle.
When I connected the power lead at the fuse box, everything worked as expected - there is no better recommendation than that.

Denso (5304) IK20 Iridium Spark Plug, Pack of 1 Review

Denso (5304) IK20 Iridium Spark Plug, Pack of 1

Picked up a set of these to replace the stock NKGs on my 2005 Honda Accord 4 cylinder after 97k miles. The originals were still good -- just doing a spring-time overhaul.
Engine felt smoother although that could be psychological. What is real, however, is a solid and consistent 2 MPG increase in fuel economy from what I was averaging over the last 60k miles.
I'll try to update this review after 30k miles or so.

I like these blades. Great in snow and ice. Keeps the ice pieces from forming and messing up your view. I still have them on heading into summer.

Polk Audio AA6514-A MM6501 6.5-Inch System Speaker System Review

Polk Audio AA6514-A MM6501 6.5-Inch System Speaker System
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I ordered these to replace the standard speakers in my 2007 Lexus ES350. I installed the Polk 6.5 inch speakers in the front doors in place of the factory speakers, and the improvement in sound quality is incredible. (Note to similar vehicle owners: Disconnect the factory center dash speaker to avoid volume/voice mismatch between the new and center speaker.) Installation was difficult, as it was necessary to cut up the factory speaker brackets to make these fit (3rd party universal fit brackets can be purchased to make this easier). I did not bother with the Polk tweeters or crossover units - I left the factory equipment in place, as the crossover units are bulky - about 2.5" x 4.5" x 1.5". The MM6501 speakers have plenty of bass and low midrange sound for pop, easy listening, and classical music. The speakers have excellent clarity - they don't sound muddy or distorted like the car's factory speakers. I can set the bass, mid, & treble of my stereo to "flat" and get pleasing sound, and the speakers are not at all tiring to listen to. The price on Amazon is half that some other vendors charge. The speaker have spade connectors. The package includes foam gaskets and and wire terminated with spade connectors, but no screws. I highly recommend these speakers.

Polk Audio AA2521-A MM521 5.25-Inch Coax Speaker Review

Polk Audio AA2521-A MM521 5.25-Inch Coax Speaker
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I upgraded my stereo on my 2010 Ultra Limited by installing an Alpine KTP-445 Amplifier and a set of marine grade Kicker Speakers that are designed for the Harley Batwing Fairings. The fronts were KS5250 and the rears were DS5250. I took a ride and was not happy with the front speakers. I did a little research and purchased the Polk Audio MM521 marine grade speakers for the fronts. I removed the outer fairing and installed the speakers. The Polk speakers have a crossover that wires directly into the original wires that were attached to the Kicker Speakers. I also run a Hog Tune Tweeter Bar on the front inner fairing above the CD player. I was pleasantly surprised with the vast improvement of the sound sytstem after install of the Polk MM521 speakers. Volume, clarity and bass are all vastly improved. I am a happy rider. I only have to wipe the blood from my ears after turning off the stereo.

My Subaru had old bulbs that were dim, faded and orange at night. This was the fix and I could not be any happier. Bright, white and intense light that really aides in the safety and increased night vision.

Trico 17-160 Teflon Blade Refill - 16" (1 Refill) Review

Trico 17-160 Teflon Blade Refill - 16 (1 Refill)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought one of these things when I discovered my Honda Odyssey has a special rear wiper arm that isn't generic so I couldn't find a true replacement for it. It turns out the manufacturer recommends just replacing the wiper refill anyway, so I got this. It works fine and I learned something valuable.
When you consider the typical vehicle these days has 3 wipers, all different sizes, sometimes with different attachment arrangements, it can get complicated and expensive replacing them all twice a year as recommended. But, replacing just the wiper refill is much simpler and cheaper and I am more inclined to do the twice-a-year thing. So, I'll be doing that with all my vehicles in the future.
This is the only wiper refill I've bought, so can't really say whether it's better or worse than its competitors.

I had to force it in after enlarging the holder in order to fit. Also, it leaves streaks after a few uses.
