(More customer reviews)Crunch aguably makes the best low end amp on the market. I did not expect it to actually have the watts that it claimed, which not surprisingly it does not. The low end amps never do. You should only pair this amp with entry level speakers as they do not need a lot of power to sound good. For the price, which you cant beat, it sounded really good. The 5th channel for the sub woofer puts out about 100watts. It sounds great as long as you have the correct box for you vehicles accoustics and a entry level sub that doesn't need a lot of power to drive it. It worked just fine for my 4 infinity 6.5in speakers. If you are wanting a big base boom then get a mono amp. If you just want to include the bass that creates the drama in the song then this will definantly do that. I would recommend this amp to anyone who is price conscious and is just looking for a fuller sound then a head unit can create by itself.

(More customer reviews)Product was great - at first. Then it died - spewing smoke and all! But things happen. So I contacted Audiobahn - and that is when it all started. They will not honor their own warranty unless you buy from one of their "authorized resellers'. This was buried in the product's manual and not even mentioned on the warranty card that I filled out and returned when this was first purchased. Many emails over a month long period provided no solution. The responses that I received from the "customer service manager" demonstrated that they had no concern for my business. I will go so far as to say that they were curt & rude in their responses. At no time could they come up with a reason for not standing behind their product. I refuse to do business with a manufacturer that has such little concern for their customers. Look elsewhere for a quality product that has a reputable manufacturer standing behind their products!

Alpine Type-X SPX-17REF - Car speaker - 75 Watt - 2-way - component Review

(More customer reviews)I have these installed in my 1998 Honda Civic coupe. I have an Alpine head unit and an Alpine MRP F300 amp that sends 50 watts RMS to these speakers which I have installed in the front doors. I don't have a sub-woofer so these and a pair of Alpine SPR 69C 6x9's make up my car audio system. I've had Pioneer and Rockford Fosgate components in other vehicles and I am very pleased with these for the price. I purchased them at Dealer Cost Car Audio dot com, with no tax and free shipping for $176, there was also a $20 coupon online which made the price great. With components like these the high's and mid's are perfect. My car is older and its a Honda so the road noise is pretty loud at 70 MPH, these help me forget about the road noise during my commute. If you think component speakers like these will add solid low end bass, you are wrong. The low end sound is good but not near sub-woofer good, if you want booming base get a sub. I rock out with hard rock and get G'd up from the feet up with hip hop and these speakers perform better than I expected. I would recommend these to anyone who wants a quality pair of component speakers who enjoy listening to any song's full dynamic range. There are cheaper speaker out there, but in my opinion Alpine's quality is awesome and these are worth the price.

(More customer reviews)When I first saw this amp it was at my local electronics store with a price tag well over $120 + tax. I checked it throughly that day to see if it's even in the range I was looking for. Turned out to be a pretty solid amp.
I purchased this amp for $85 shipped to my door through amazon. Put it in my whip within a few hours after redoing my wiring. I drive a 97' suburban and this is powering two sets of MB Quart speakers, one being component the other 6 x 9's. I at first thought that the light on the amp would increase its temperature but it doesn't. I drilled it into some MDF boards just to keep it off the carpet to be safe.
Once the wiring was done sweet sweet heaven started to pump out of every speaker it was powering. Adjusted the settings a little and now I have crisp rich highs/mids running through my Quarts. I recommend buying two sets of RCA Y-splitters (female to 2xmales) if your after market deck has only one set of output RCA's to power your fronts. That way you can drop it down to 4 channels at 125w each. Or you can leave it bridged what ever works best for you.
Over all I am very pleased with this amp and Crunch has earned a spot on my team with audio electronics.

Pioneer GM-6400F 600-Watt, 4-Channel Power Amplifier Review

(More customer reviews)Like the other guys said - it is big, it is heavy. Big and heavy suggests big heatsink, which you want. I haven't opened it up to see how well built it is inside, but the bottom cover is made of that cheap, thin, plated steel that they make generic PC cases out of. In contrast, my 350W Rockford Fosgate sub amp is all cast aluminum and chrome-plated, thick steel. The Pioneer runs a bit hotter than the Rockford amp and the screw terminals are much cheaper than the enclosed terminals of the Rockford, but you gets what you pay for.
I have this amp mounted vertically on stand-offs on the side of my trunk space, with a 120mm PC fan blowing across it. Only gets warm then, even when you start off with the trunk interior at 100°F.
I'm playing a 4-year old Pioneer head unit via the RCA jacks into this amp which drives a pair of [...] 6x8 Pioneer 3-way front speakers and some [...] 6x8 Infinity 2-way speakers in the rear. Sounds nice and clear - no noticeable distortion at a fairly high volume level (that I can't stand to listen to for more than a few minutes at a time). With only the head unit (rated at 4x50W, which is supposedly 4x25W RMS) powering the same speakers, I had to use its built-in HPF to take away the bass below 50Hz, else it would be distortion-a-plenty. Now with this amp hooked up, I can feel the front doors vibrating again and no distortion!
Do yourself a favor - ignore the fairy-tale power rating on your head unit and use a separate 4-channel amp for your main speakers. It just sounds so much clearer and you can enjoy the full amount of bass that your speakers can produce. You don't have to listen at a very loud volume to hear the difference. This is the first time I've bothered getting an amp for the main speakers in a car (and I've been driving since 1988). I've upgraded head units and added small subs, but this has made the most overall difference in sound quality. Next time I change cars, a 4-channel amp is the first thing I'm going to install. Wish I'd figured this out years ago!
